Actor, comedian, singer, and musician Jim Belushi will be in town this weekend to promote products from his cannabis company, Rogue’s Lair.

The famous funny man will appear at Tumbleweed Cannabis Company, 310 N. Highway 20 in Hines, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, and adults age 21 and older are invited to come and meet him.

“He has a grow, and so he will be here promoting his line, which is fantastic,” Tumbleweed owner Julie Beitzel explained.

“He has an amazing place there,” Beitzel said. “It’s absolutely stunning. It’s right on the Rogue River, and his farm is there, and they’ve got this big, beautiful house and a little amphitheater where he can go out and play. It’s very fun.”

“Building Belushi,” a television show on DIY Network, details the building of Belushi’s riverfront property.

Beitzel had been working with the wholesaler who handles Belushi’s products, but she got to meet the entertainer in person when she was invited to his harvest party.

“They had a big harvest party, and they invited us down because we’re in the industry,” Beitzel said. “It was great. They had this huge shindig, and [Belushi] sang and performed and fed us and gave us free samples, so it was a hoot!”

Beitzel said Belushi was standing at the front gate when she arrived at the party, and they struck up a conversation. Beitzel told Belushi about Harney County’s large veteran population, and he said he has a heart for veterans and would like to come to the area for a vendor day.

Beitzel explained that a vendor day is when a company hosts a meet and greet and offers their products at a discount. In addition to bringing his favorite strain, Belushi will be signing autographs.

“He’s a goof,” Beitzel said. “He’s very personable, so you’ll feel like you’re just talking to some guy. It doesn’t feel like you’re talking to a celebrity. He’s just very down-to-earth, a very nice guy.”
