Burns, Crane take top two spots at Ranchers Invitational

The Mustangs’ Riley Davis won the shot put.

The Burns and Crane track teams finished first and second, respectively at the Ranchers Invitational in Crane of Tuesday, April 30.

Burns won the girls meet with 248 points, and the Lady Mustangs were second with 134.5 points. Prairie City finished third with 49, followed by Long Creek with 33, Jordan Valley 22, Harper 19, and Burnt River 11.5.

The Burns boys team won the team title with a score of 135, followed by Crane with 99 points. Harper placed third with 92 points, followed by Prairie City with 87, McDermitt, Nev. 75, Jordan Valley 46, Long Creek 19, and Burnt River 13.

After a few years in college, he settled in Idaho for a decade, skiing, golfing, and working at Sun Valley Resort. He married in 1985, completed broadcast school, and moved to Harney County in 1989 to work for KZZR. After 16 years of on-air work, he left the radio station and went to work for the Burns Times-Herald.
