Crossroads Ranch hosting fundraising dinner

With its sights set on opening this coming summer, Crossroads Ranch of Harney County is hosting its Third annual Fundraiser Dinner and Auction on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Crossroads Ranch is a nonprofit equine therapy center, at 53 E. Industrial Way in Burns, set up to serve clients of all ages with many special circumstances. That includes those with ADD/ADHD, autism, Asperger syndrome, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, and family crises, such as divorce, abuse, and abandonment.

Along with riding therapies, Crossroads Ranch plans to offer job and life-skills training, as well as cooking, glass-blowing, and auto mechanics classes.

Crossroads Ranch is also working with the local Veterans Services office and plans to dedicate one day a week solely to working with veterans.

The fundraising dinner and auction will be held in the Memorial Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds. The doors open at 5 p.m. so attendees may bid on the many silent auction items.

Dinner, catered by Juniper Cookhouse, will be served at 6:30 p.m., and you have your choice of petite sirloin or Alice Springs Chicken, with cheesy potatoes, company vegetables, salad, rolls, and dessert.

Following dinner, a live auction will be held.

Items up for auction during the night include a cruise for two aboard Holland America, tickets to a Seattle Mariners game, tickets to a Boise State basketball game, tickets to the Oregon State-Oklahoma State football game, a two-night stay at the Oregon coast, tickets to a performance by Portland Center Stage at the Armory, and a lot more.

Tickets are $20 each, or two for $35, and are available at Shepherd Graphics, Gourmet & Gadgets, and at the door. A limited number of tickets are available, so get yours early.

Table sponsorships are still being accepted at a cost of $200, which includes two dinner tickets. Food sponsorships are $100 and include one dinner ticket.

This year, a portion of the proceeds will go to replenish the Harney County Veterans Discretionary Help Fund.
