Skull 120/60/30 gravel grinder races a success

The Skull 120/60/30 Gravel Grinder bike races were held on Saturday, June 16, with close to 100 riders competing in the three races.

The 120 race, with 28 competitors, was won by Thomas Hainisch in a time of 8:37.27. Second place went to Charles Christiansen (8:53.48), Bryan Bergstedt (9:17.37) finished third, Mitchell Trux was fourth (9:47.46), and Doug Higlay was fifth (9:47.55).

Twenty-nine riders took part in the Skull 60, with David Volkov placing first with a time of 4:50.13. Luther Pugh rode to a second-place finish (5:03.26), Nick Miller was third (5:13.50), Geoff Sosebee placed fourth (5:16.39), and Ryan Burr took fifth (5:46.06).

The Skull 30 featured 18 riders, and the race was won by Clarke Reames with a time of 2:46.23. David Whitsell placed second (2:55.13), Emma  Mealer was third (3:25.39), Jonathon Baller came in fourth (3:32.37), and Graham Banks finished fifth (3:45.29).

There were 41 riders that started the Skull 120, and only 28 finished the race, as several riders decided to switch to the Skull 60 because of the difficulty of the course.
