Crane holds fall sports awards banquet

The fall sports awards banquet was held on Tuesday, Nov. 21, to honor the Crane Union High School football and volleyball athletes.

The football and volleyball coaches handed out JV letters, varsity letters, special awards, and High Desert League (HDL) awards.

The special awards are as follows:

Volleyball –– Most Improved, Riley Davis; Most Inspirational, Elizabeth Jenkins; Most Outstanding, Elizabeth Jenkins.

In addition, Elizabeth Jenkins and Savannah Maupin were voted to the HDL All Star first team. Riley Davis was voted to second team. Shelie Doman and Laurel Witzel were given honorable mention.

Football –– Top Lineman, Elijah Epling; Best Offensive Player, Jay Jay Balowski; Best Defensive Player, Jacob Dunn; Most Improved, Randy Epling; Most Inspirational, Chase Joyce; Most Outstanding, Miles Maupin.

Several members of the Mustang football squad were also voted to the HDL All Star first team, including: Miles Maupin, quarterback; Jay Jay Balowski, running back; Chase Joyce, end/receiver; Miles Maupin, linebacker; Elijah Epling, defensive end; Jay Jay Balowski, defensive end; Jay Jay Balowski, returner.

Second team vote receivers were: Jacob Dunn, running back; Randy Epling, guard; Imani Schaefer, defensive end; Chase Joyce, defensive back; Chase Joyce, returner.

Zach Davis at guard and Randy Epling at linebacker were also given honorable mention.

Miles Maupin was chosen as the HDL Player of the Year, and Stub Travis was chosen as Coach of the Year.
