Lorie Lee Parkhurst, 67, of Ontario, passed away May 6 in Boise, Idaho.  Lorie was born Aug. 12, 1948, and was adopted at birth by Frank and Agnes Hirsch of Burns.

She graduated from Burns High School in 1966, and worked at the post office and then the Burns Police Department. That’s where she met the love of her life, William Parkhurst, and together they moved to the Ocean Shores area in the state of Washington in 1988.

They were married in 1997, and then were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple in Utah. They moved back to the farm in Ontario upon retirement in 2011.

She is survived by her husband, William “Willy” Parkhurst; her adopted sisters, Jean Hirsch and Joan Barbaree; niece, Alicia Clark; nephew, Josh Clark; the Parkhurst brothers, Daniel, Charlie and Bob, and their families; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, with visitation one hour before at 10 a.m.,  at the Vale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Internment will follow at the Valley View Cemetery. Services under the direction of the Lienkaemper Chapel in Vale.
