BHS cheerleaders take first in coed stunt division

Draper places fourth in individual

The Burns High School cheerleaders competed in the Oregon Cheer Coaches Association Cheer Championships Feb. 14 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.

The cheerleaders competed against schools of various classifications in stunt and individual competitions.

Lily Wilcox, Taylor Draper, Dylan Draper, Mackenzie Moulton and Ellie Burri took first place in the coed stunt division.

Layle Bennett, Morgan Cooley, Alyssa Burri, Emma Johnston and Miranda Howes took fifth in the all-girl stunt division.

T. Draper placed fourth in the individual, non-tumbling division.

Samantha White
Samantha White was born and raised in Harney County, and she graduated from Burns High School in 2005. After high school, she attended the University of Oregon where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in magazine journalism. White was hired as a reporter for the Burns Times-Herald in September 2012.
