National champion… again! Sports May 30, 2018May 30, 20181 Seth Nonnenmacher, a 2014 graduate of Burns High School and senior at George Fox, took first place in the javelin to repeat as a national champion at the 2018 NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Nonnenmacher’s winning throw of 241-11.50 (73.75m) came on the first of his six attempts. His throw also broke his own George Fox school record of 234-06, and placed him third all-time on the NCAA Div. III list. Second place went to Cameron Stalters of Fitchburg State with a throw of 229-04 on his final attempt. The George Fox men’s track team finished tied for seventh in the team standings. With his winning throw, Nonnenmacher qualified to compete at the 2018 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships June 21-24.
