The Harney County Library is inviting everyone on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 6pm, for an engaging program on the Manhattan Project.

The Mill House will host a free Cribbage Game Night every third Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. All levels of players are welcome.

Harney Grant Babe Ruth board meets the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse basement meeting room, 450 N. Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Burns Fire Dept. meets each Wednesday at the Burns Fire Hall at 6 p.m.

LIFE Church offers two small group opportunities each Wednesday. The daytime group meets at the church (74 South Alvord) at noon. The evening group meets at Virginia’s house at 334 West Buchanan at 6 pm. We eat, discuss, support each other, and pray. We would love to have you participate. The November LIFE Church Free Hygiene Day will be on the third Thursday, November 21st. Come to the church between 11 am and 1 pm to choose 10 products including laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, shaving supplies, deodorant, and more. Life Church is located at 74 S. Valley Golf Club Ladies Partee meets the third Thursday of each month at the VGC Clubhouse at 5:30 p.m.

The Harney County Senior Center offers classes for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:15 in the morning. The class consists of DVD and personal instruction. Frontier Art Center has Open Studio every Friday from 1:00-5:00 for Pottery and Painting. All ages welcome; youth under 12 must be accompanied by adult. $10 per day. Fee does not include clay or painting canvas, but other supplies provided. Basic instruction or work on your own. Harney District Hospital holds a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic for any athletes, 6th grade through 12th grade, that have sustained a sports-related injury. Athletes will be seen by a physical therapist to assess their injury and offer recommendations for treatment, or refer them to their physician if needed. Call 541-573-1543 to arrange a time to come in. A parent or guardian must accompany the athlete when they come in to the sports injury clinic.

Frontier Art Center’s Calligraphy Class is the fourth Tuesday each month, from 5:30 to 7:30, with practice work in between. Taught by Schelly Daugherty. Beginners and experienced calligraphers welcome. Paper and ink supplied. Calligraphy pens available for beginners to use, and Schelly can order whatever you need to continue. Addiction Recovery Program meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in room 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 600 N. Saginaw Avenue in Hines. This free group meeting is a faith-based, 12-step program open to all in the community age 18 and older who are working on stopping any destructive habits. The northeast door to the building will be unlocked for your convenience.
