Daniel George “Dan” Feigal 1962-2016 Obituary October 12, 2016October 12, 20160 Daniel George “Dan” Feigal, 54, a long time Wenatchee Valley, Wash. resident, passed away Oct. 4 at home near Cashmere, Wash. Dan was born April 8, 1962, in Burns, to James Clayton and Daisy E. (Brown) Feigal. He is the nephew of Burns residents Helen (Brown) and Allen Hart. The family moved to East Wenatchee when Dan was 1 year old. He grew up in East Wenatchee and attended Lee Elementary, Sterling Junior High, and Eastmont High School. While in high school, Dan became active in FFA. He graduated with the Eastmont Class of 1981. Following high school, Dan began working at area pizzeria businesses. First, he worked at the Wenatchee Pizza Hut. Later, Dan worked at Pizza-N-More and Abby’s Pizza in East Wenatchee (where he created the Heart-Shaped Pizza). Finally, he returned to Pizza Hut. During this period, Dan purchased and rode a large displacement motorcycle. With his small stature, Dan was regularly stopped by all the law enforcement agencies whose officers were skeptical of his age. In 1984, Dan went to work at Tree Top in Wenatchee. He worked in the dehydration department as a palletizer and fork lift operator. Dan worked at Tree Top for 16 years until his ill health forced him to retire in 2000. Dan battled diabetes, beginning in his early childhood. Things appeared dim in the early 1990s when he began to suffer renal failure. A remarkable gift of life was given to Dan by his sister Amy’s gift of a kidney in 1992. Dan gained a new lease on life and lived an additional 24 years. Dan and Amy would always enjoy a special bond (Dan often joked that his mood changes were attributable to that darn female part!). As a car buff, Dan is well remembered for his Bradley GT, VW kit car, and, mostly, for his Oldsmobile 442 Convertible nicknamed “Bubbles” which he painted Harlequin Translucent. He actively presented “Bubbles” at car shows. He and “Bubbles” also transported local political personalities and the Misawa, Japan, Sister City dignitaries in the parades. Dan especially enjoyed the outdoors, hiking in the North Cascades, sleeping outdoors in the hammock, and listening to the river, his string-pulled talking stuffed monkey “Chester”, and his Olds 442, “Bubbles”. Dan is survived by his mother, Daisy E. Feigal of Cashmere; his companion, Lori Davis of Dryden, Wash.; his three siblings and their spouses, Debra and Leonard Anderson of East Wenatchee, Del and Aimee’ Feigal, Vantage, Wash., and Amy and Stewart Smith, East Wenatchee; 11 nephews, one niece, and 10 great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clayton Feigal, on March 25, 2006. A graveside service was held Oct. 10, in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee. You are invited to view his tribute online at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com and leave a memory for the family. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
