Cheryl Callaway 1951-2016 Obituary September 28, 2016September 29, 20160 Cheryl Callaway passed away Sept. 22 in Boise, Idaho, with family and friends by her side after a very courageous battle with cancer. Cheryl was born Sept. 19, 1951, to Ray and Luella Turley. She attended school in Burns and graduated in 1969. Then moved to Ontario to attend college. She moved back to Burns where she married Mike Callaway. They had two children, Zach, who was born in 1976, and then Michelle in 1979. Her two kids were her world. She always made sure that she devoted all of her free time to them. She loved to camp, can, knit, and spend time with family. She worked at Snow Mountain Pine in the shipping department until it closed, then worked for the Forest Service for a short time before she accepted a job in the office at Hospice/Home Health where she worked her way up to office manager. She loved working with everyone in the office, but decided after 20-plus years she would retire. Cheryl is survived by her son, Zach Callaway of Ontario; daughter, Michelle Rott of Burns; brother, Randy Turley of Riddle; nephew, Brandon Turley of Bend; and numerous close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Luella Turley. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at LaFollette’s Chapel. Burial will follow in the Burns Cemetery.
