Travis Haines Williams passed away on March 12, 2025, in Caldwell, Idaho. He was a devoted husband, father, son, good friend, and a true patriot. Travis is now riding green pastures with his father Terry.

Travis was the first born son to Terry and Nancy Williams, in Burns. He began his journey of life on Aug. 26, 1969. He was raised with his sister, Diane Willson (Williams), on the family’s cattle ranch in Drewsey. He attended Drewsey Elementary and graduated from Crane Union High School. Throughout high school he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. After graduating from high school, he attended Lassen Community College in Susanville, Calif., for gunsmithing and welding. That is where he met his future wife, Linda.

On Aug. 25, 1990, Travis married the love of his life, Linda Rene Ryan. They would have been married 35 years this summer. Together they raised three children, Joshua, Tanya, and their perfect son, Samuel. In 1992, Travis and Linda moved from Ontario to Drewsey, to work on the same ranch where he grew up. He was proud to be working as the fifth generation alongside his family. He would often chuckle and say “that’s something you can hang your hat on.”

Travis worked at Maeda Tuttle Construction, Producers Livestock, Dash W Bar ranch, as well as owned his own welding business “Trav’s Mobile Welding”. He was very involved in the Harney County community. He stayed busy as President of Stockgrowers Association, Chairman for Drewsey Elementary, Rural Fire Protection Agency, 4H Leader, Church functions, Harney County Fair and Rodeo Board, Safety Committee and other various committees. He made many friends along the way.

As much as he loved being outside working, he loved his family more. He was so proud of his children and their accomplishments. He loved being a grandpa and had a special connection with first granddaughter, Zoey. Travis always found time to enjoy the little things in life and would often play pranks and jokes on his family and friends.

Travis loved music. He taught himself how to play the harmonica and the bass guitar. He often played at church and made great memories jamming with other Drewsey locals. Those jam sessions became “Rexy night” as they often all gathered at Rex Robertson’s house. His kids fondly remember him enjoying Hank Williams Jr songs.

In August of 2018, tragedy struck when Travis was involved in an accident with his pickup and horse trailer. Even though his horse and dogs were unscathed, he was thrown from the crash and suffered a traumatic brain injury. After being in a coma for several weeks, he had the opportunity to see various Brain Injury Specialists ranging from Denver, Colo., to Boise, Idaho. Although he was endlessly supported by his devoted family, loving community, and various specialists, he never made a full recovery. Travis passed away on March 12, at Canyon West of Cascadia facility in Caldwell, Idaho.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Terry Williams; and niece, Nikki Sutton. He is survived by his wife, Linda Williams of Nampa, Idaho; his mother, Nancy Williams of Drewsey; his sister, Diane Willson (Aaron) Pinedale, Wyo.; his children, Josh Williams (Lindy) of Crane, Tanya Pozzi (Tom) of Baker City, and Sam Williams of New Princeton; his grandchildren, Zoey, Matea, Riften, and Meera; nieces and nephews, Shayna, Trevor, Ruthee, Calleb and Wylee. Travis will be incredibly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

We would like to thank all of our family and friends for all of their continued prayers and support through the years. Words cannot express our appreciation and the love that we have felt. We would like to give a special thanks to all of doctors and nurses, the Jenkins family for letting us borrow their wheelchair accessible van, everyone who helped with fundraisers, Richard and Elaine Ryan for graciously sharing and adjusting their home, Rex and Joe Robertson for helping make Travis and Linda’s house more accessible, and Canyon West of Cascadia, for making him as comfortable as possible for his last moments.

A funeral for Travis will be held on Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m., at the Drewsey Community Hall/Gymnasium. Internment to follow at the Drewsey Cemetery.
