2024 fundraiser winner: Esther Leithouser was the winner of the P.E.O. Chapter EY’s December drawing fundraiser for a handmade wooden chest filled with gifts.

Burns P.E.O. Chapter EY is seeking donations for its Re-Style Show & Shop, which will take place Saturday, March 15, at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave. Admission is free.

The group is seeking donated clothing and accessories for the event. Clothing should be in very good condition. Broken jewelry, single earrings or items in good condition that you’re tired of will be accepted and re-styled into new creations. To donate clothing or jewelry, call Laurie Draper at 541-589-3369 or Denise Rose at 541-589-0901. Clothing donations will be accepted until March 10.

This is the 11th year P.E.O. Chapter EY has put on the Re-Style Show & Shop event. It is one of the group’s major scholarship fundraisers. Since the chapter first started in 1983, Harney County women have received $283,718 in scholarship money.

The chapter’s December fundraiser takes place during the holiday season when they hold a drawing for a handmade wooden chest filled with gifts. This year’s winner was Esther Leithouser.

In September, P.E.O. Chapter EY hosts a trunk sale fundraiser in the parking lot between Big R and McDonald’s. Members line up their cars with their trunks open and sell items such as dishes, linens, furniture, power tools, yard equipment and more.

Proceeds from these three fundraisers go toward educational scholarships for women. As an international organization, P.E.O. celebrates the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and the stewardship of Cottey College.

For more information about applying for P.E.O. scholarships and loans, call Sammie Masterson at 541-589-0518.
