2024-2025 property tax statements coming in the mail

The 2024-2025 property tax statements were scheduled for mailing on Friday, Oct. 11.

If you receive a yellow tax statement, it means that your lender has asked for your statement and they should be paying your taxes. If you have questions with regards to your lender paying your taxes, please contact your lender. 

Payments must be delivered or postmarked by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2024 in order to receive the discount.

Tax Collector’s office hours are as follows:

• From statement mailing date through Oct. 25, 2024 –

Regular office hours 

8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

(Closed 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch)

• Oct. 28, 2024 through Nov. 15, 2024 –

8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

(Open during lunch hour)

• The Assessor & Tax Collector’s office will be closed 

Monday, Nov. 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans’ Day.

Make checks, money orders, etc. to: Harney County Tax Collector

MAIL – If you mail your payment, it must be postmarked no later than Nov. 15, 2024 in order to receive any discounts. Please check with your local post master as to their hours regarding posted mail. Our address is:

WALK-IN or DROP BOX – You are welcome to come into the office to make the payment. The banks are no longer doing the drop boxes. As an option we have placed a drop box in the lobby just inside the front doors at the base of the stairs and have another one on the wall by the tax office door. Any hand delivered payments received in the Tax Collector’s office will be posted on the date received during office hours. All payments presented to the office after 5 p.m. Pacific time, will be posted on the next business day.

ONLINE – Our website is www.harneycountyOR.gov; there is a link on the home page for online payments. Reminder, it has to be posted by 5 p.m. Pacific time on Nov. 15, 2024 in order to receive the discount.

If you have not received your statement by Oct. 31, 2024, please contact the tax office.
