Mary Ann Blair 1946 – 2024

Mary Ann Blair passed away unexpectedly in her home in Fallon, Nev., on Aug. 11, 2024, at the age of 78.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Blair; her son, Clay; her sister, Barbara Enochson (Roy); her brother, Ott Hansen (Kim); and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lorie; her sister, Inger Casey; and her parents, Hank and Helen Hansen. 

Born on July 31, 1946, in Fallon, Nev., Mary Ann graduated from Crane High School in 1964. That same year, she met Ray Blair at the Denio Dance, and they married in 1965. Together, they welcomed their children, Lorie (1966) and Clay (1968). They became a close-knit family, embracing a fulfilling ranching livelihood.

Mary Ann had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went, embodying the spirit of warmth and hospitality. Throughout her life, she and her family lived in several small towns across the Western United States, leaving behind a network of lifelong friendships. Mary Ann enjoyed the Western lifestyle and competed in Cutting, Team Sorting and Team Penning. She was part of the original trick riding group “The Mustangs,” which performed at The Reno Rodeo. Her bubbly personality and genuine spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held at the Churchill County Museum, located at 1050 So. Maine Street, Fallon, on Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your favorite adaptive riding facility in her memory.
