Wright throws no-hitter against Nyssa

Jack Wright pitched a no-hitter, throwing all seven innings in a 5-1 win over league rivals the Nyssa Bulldogs in Nyssa, on Tuesday, May 7.

Wright walked four batters and struck-out nine on his way to earn the win.

Dylan Johnson and Sean McMullen each went 2 for 3 to lead the team in offense. Orion Houck, Wyatt Sewell and Wright had one hit.

On Thursday, May 9, the Hilander baseball team celebrated their two seniors, Jayson Graham and Zion Harrington, for Senior Day. However, the celebration was short lived as the La Pine Hawks took down the Hilanders in five innings, 10-0.

Burns managed only three hits during the five innings from Wyatt Marshall, McMullen and Houck. 

McMullen received the loss on the day, throwing four innings, giving up four hits, five walks and striking out four batters.

On the year, Wright is batting .419 with 10 RBIs, while striking out 94 batters with a 0.724 ERA. Houck is batting .408 with 21 RBIs and 24 stolen bases. Johnson is hitting .391 with 11 RBIs and Tyson Breshears is batting .286.

The team is currently 7-15 overall on the season and 6-6 in EOL play, and are currently in third place in the EOL.

The Hilanders finish up the regular season at home on Thursday, May 16 against Grant Union (17-6, 12-0). The first pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
