Leonard L. Johnson 1936 -2023 Obituary November 29, 2023November 29, 20230 Leonard L. Johnson, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 2023, at his home on Crooked River Ranch. He was 87 years old. Born in 1936 in Driggs, Idaho, Len spent the first few years of his life in Seneca, with his parents, Alfred and Lottie Johnson, as well as his older brother, Marvin. His family moved to Burns in 1945, where he grew up with his other two brothers, Nick and Lonnie, as well as his sister, Kathy. Len was an avid athlete but was best known for his skills in boxing where he had earned an invitation to the 1956 Olympics. He also loved hunting and fishing in the great NW. He married his high school sweetheart, Anita, in 1955 and spent the last 68 years together. His first son, Rodney, was born in 1956, followed by his other two sons, Timothy in 1957 and Matthew in 1959. He moved his family to Portland in 1959, where he spent the next 20 years in a career with the U.S. Army. He retired in 1977 and became successful in Real Estate, after moving himself and Anita to Lincoln City. In 1997 they moved to Crooked River Ranch where he and Anita were avid golfers and became very involved in various organizations. Leonard is survived by his wife, and three sons, his three siblings, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
