Jane Lois Vermillion was born in Cloquet, Minn. on May 4, 1934. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, five siblings and the love of her life, Charles Vermillion.

Jane is survived by her two sisters, Katherine, and Betty; children, Jack, Mona, Tina, Tawnya, and Chuck; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jane was married to Jack Huffman Sr. from Sept. 7, 1948, to July 18, 1960. They had two children, Jack Huffman, and Mona Chandler. 

She later married Charles Vermillion with whom she had three children, Tina, Tawnya, and Chuck. Jane and Charles were together for 62 years.

During Jane’s professional life, she worked as a waitress, a mill worker and as a caregiver. She enjoyed the outdoors, going up in the hills to collect firewood, attending family picnics, yard-sales, and shopping at thrift stores. Jane loved spending time with family, especially during the Christmas season.

She had an infectious laugh, a strong will, and a genuine spirit. She was incredibly caring and would often ‘wear her heart on her sleeve.’ Jane loved a good conversation, and always had a good story to tell. She was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed.

We love you, Grandma Jane. Rest in peace.

The family will be honoring the memories of Jane and Charles Vermillion on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at LaFollette’s Chapel in Burns. All are welcome to attend.
