Nancy Shelley Sitz Davalos Sept. 6, 1937 – Jan. 5, 2025 Obituary January 15, 2025January 15, 20250 Nancy Davalos was born in Seattle, Wash., on Sept. 6, 1937, she was the oldest of five children. She is survived by her brothers, David Lee, Jimmy Lee, and John Lee. She had three children, eight grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee. Her family moved around with construction crews until they settled in Payette, where she finished school. Ron Shelley and Nancy were married and welcomed a girl and boy; Vicky and Glen, while they resided at the Acton Ranch in Drewsey until the ranch was sold. Shortly after, Ron and Nancy divorced. Nancy met and married Jerry Sitz, and moved to Otis Valley and had Sherri. A few years later, they ventured on their own to Mt. Vernon, where they ranched on their own. Jerry and Nancy sold their own cows and went into construction in the John Day and Burns area, partnering in Burns Lumber supply. Nancy resided in Yuma, Ariz., where she had her first home. After selling her place in Oregon City, she lived between Drewsey and Yuma for the remaining twelve years. Cooking was her passion. The Hussey’s and their crew were able to enjoy her rolls and her seven coarse meals. She headed back to Yuma last fall for the winter, until she became very ill and had to return to Drewsey. She wasn’t fond of the cold, but she enjoyed the beauty after every fresh blanket of snow. With family at home, noisy great-grandkids, and church hymns, she passed away quietly on Jan. 5, 2025. We will remember her and her love for her beautiful jewelry. Donations in Nancy’s memory can be made to: CAN Cancer, c/o Harney District Hospital, 557 W. Washington, Burns, OR., 97720
