Peter was born July 20, 1989 in Burns. He was the second child of three born to Anthony (Tony) Diaz and Lori Curtis.

Peter was a happy child and was always up to something but eventually his mental illness and drug addictions took his life on Sept. 8, 2024.

He spent his entire life in Harney County. He attended Slater Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, Hines Middle School and Burns High School.

Peter was extremely intelligent but not very academic, earning his GED in 2005. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Avel and May Diaz and Richard and Charlene Kealiher; and his father, Anthony Diaz in 2021.

Peter is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lori and Mark Curtis. His sisters and their significant others, Anna Diaz-Torrence Sara Diaz (Chance), and Megan Benson (Eric). Nephew, Ike Torrence and nieces, Chloe Torrence and Thea Benson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was our child, brother, uncle, cousin, friend. Peter was loved, he will be missed.
