Johnny Michael Prater, 69, of Burns, passed away on July 30, 2024.

John was born on Nov. 5, 1954 to Bob and Geraldine Prater in San Bernardino, Calif. The family then moved up to Medford.

After school, John went on to a successful career in sales as a Construction Sales Manager. He had a solid work ethic and unique sense of humor. He loved riding his motorcycle and would often drive by, smile and wave at people he didn’t know to get a smile back and embarrass his kids.

John met his spouse, Sandra, in Gresham in July of 2009 and they fell deeply in love at first sight. Happily they were committed to each other and married in 2017.

In 2021, John again fell deeply in love…with Burns. So there they moved and he retired to spend most of his time on backyard building projects and listening to music in his man cave.

A memorial for John was graciously held by Steve and Doris Davison on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024.
