Twila Kay Diltz Dec. 31, 1943 – July 5, 2024

Twila Kay Graham Diltz, 80, passed away July 5, 2024 in Phoenix, Ore., after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Twila was born in Rupert, Idaho, on Dec. 31, 1943, to Howard J. and Edna Amelia Graham. The second child of four and the only daughter of Howard and Edna. Twila’s family moved to Burns, where she graduated from Burns Union High School in 1962. She had many great friends that she stayed in contact with through the years and enjoyed traveling back to Burns for class reunions.

Twila married Larry David Diltz on July 25, 1967, in Winnemucca, Nev. Larry was in the Air Force and Twila moved with Larry to several places in the country where she always made fast friends with the people in the areas where she lived. Larry and Twila moved back to the Rogue Valley in Oregon in the spring of 1985. Twila worked for the Jackson County Library System and later for the District Attorney in Medford. In 2005, Twila was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. The diagnosis sent her world into a topsy-turvy twirl! She managed her Parkinson’s for several years before it became severe, and Twila was placed in a care facility after a severe fall. She had heart issues and struggled with her health but beat the odds for several years after the doctors said she would not. She was moved into Suncrest Place in Talent, Ore., in 2019. In October of 2023 she moved to the home of a dear friend who has cared for her until her passing.

Twila enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing with Larry, cross-stitch, reading, doing family history, putting together puzzles, doing word searches, being outdoors and visiting with friends. Her family was the most important part of her life. She and Larry were the best of friends and a great example of what a marriage should be! They loved just being together and it was just the two of them, one word, Twila-and-Larry. Twila had the sweetest personality, she was kind to everyone, and made everyone feel like her dearest friend. Her contagious laugh and smile, even through the hard things, will be missed! Twila loved animals, especially small dogs, goats and birds. She loved to go for a ride in the car and see the beautiful scenery of Oregon.

Twila is survived by her best friend and husband, Larry Diltz of Medford, Ore.; sister-in-law, Patty Morris of Medford; brother-in-law, Kurt Diltz (Emelda) of Temecula, Calif.; god-daughter, Vicki McArthur (Shannon) of Gunnison, Utah; several nephews, nieces and many friends.

Twila was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Richard, Lester and Joseph Marvin.

Funeral services was  held at Perl Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Boulevard, Medford, Oregon 97504, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, July 11, 2024. A viewing was scheduled prior to the funeral services. Interment is at Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point, Oregon 97524.
