Esther Louise Majors June 21, 1955 – June 13, 2024

Esther was born in Prescott, Ariz., on June 21, 1955, and suddenly passed away in Burns, on June 13, 2024.

From Arizona, Esther’s family moved to Canyon City, where she met Darrel Dodson and had daughter Amy with. In 1986 Esther married James (JD) Majors. Esther and James, who had two children, Shawn and Leah, from a previous marriage added to their blended family with the births of their sons together, Levi and Warren.

Esther loved helping others and was known to drop whatever she was doing in order to help anybody who needed help.

Esther enjoyed the elderly people she helped take care of and cleaned houses for. Esther also worked in food service as a waitress as well as a dishwasher.

Regardless of the job she was doing, Esther was one of the hardest workers you’d ever meet.

Esther also loved spending time with her family who all meant the world to her. Esther enjoyed the holidays and could be found baking pies, cookies and other deserts for any occasion. Esther also made a special one-of-a-kind dip that everybody loved.

Esther loved working in her yard as well as taking her dog for walks but what Esther loved most of all was hunting for rocks, never returning from her ventures into the wild without some kind of new rock to add to her collection.

Esther’s firecracker attitude and the caring nature she was known for will be dearly missed, not only by her children and grandchildren but also by anybody who was lucky enough to call Esther a friend.

Esther is survived by her mother, Shirley Ferguson of Canyon City; her sons, Levi Majors and Warren (Kassy) Majors; and her daughter, Amy (Han) Tenty; as well as her bonus children, Leah Majors and Shawn (Maggie) Majors. Esther is also survived by her brother, Jack; her sisters, Carol, Brenda and Linda; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband, James (JD) Majors; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Yvonne Majors.

A celebration of life will be held for Esther at a later date.
