Six Hilander tracksters traveled to Eugene to take part in the 2024 Nike Outdoor Nationals held at Hayward Field, Wednesday-Saturday, June 12-15.

The six athletes qualified during the track season to take part in the Emerging Elite category.

The 4×400 meter relay team, consisting of Jace Anderson, Canon Winn, Noah Guthrie and Carsen Volle, finished in seventh place at the meet and broke the Burns High School record that has stood since 1970, with a time of 3:27.58. The 4×100 meter relay team finished 11th with a time of 44.54.

Caitlyn Horrell came in sixth in the discus with a throw of 118’2” and 28th in the shot put with a throw of 29’3.75”.

Tyson Ballard jumped 5’11.25” in the high jump to finish 22nd.

Carsen Volle came in third place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.21, and 26th place in the 110 meter high with a time of 15.39.
