Chapter EY is seeking donations for its Re-Style Show & Shop, which will take place Saturday, March 16, at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave. Admission is free. The group is seeking donated clothing and accessories for the event. Clothing should be in very good condition. Broken jewelry, single earrings or items in good condition that you’re tired of will be accepted and re-styled into new creations. To donate clothing or jewelry, drop them off at the Harney County Chamber of Commerce, 484 N. Broadway in Burns, or call Denise Rose at 541-589-0901. This is the 11th year P.E.O. Chapter EY has put on the Re-Style Show & Shop event. It is one of the group’s major scholarship fundraisers. Since the chapter first started in 1983, Harney County women have received $275,268 in scholarship money. One of the chapter’s other fundraisers takes place during the holiday season when they hold a drawing for a handmade wooden chest filled with gifts. This year’s winner was Jes Berry. As an international organization, P.E.O. celebrates the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and the stewardship of Cottey College. The P.E.O. Sisterhood sponsors six international philanthropies, or projects, designed to assist women with their educational goals. The Oregon State Chapter Charitable Trust holds three projects, which award scholarships to Oregon women working to further their education at Oregon schools.
