Meet the Crane Store and Café’s new owner Business Community February 15, 2024February 15, 20240 Originally from the North Bend/Coos Bay area, Charlie Gibson, the new owner and operator of the Crane Store and Cafe, recently relocated after 17 years in Sutherlin to Crane stating, “albeit a little further from home than I originally wanted to be, I love it here.” The Crane Store and Cafe is now open every day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. “unless the kids have a game, where we will stay open later, until all the kids are fed,” Gibson stated. A new menu is in the works with breakfast currently being served all day. Gibson says that they store and cafe are offering weekly specials, such as the meatloaf special which includes mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and a biscuit or the lasagna special with garlic bread and salad. Other specials that “come with all the fixings” include pulled pork, smoked brisket or Salisbury steak. Gibson said that the specials will be offered most Fridays and Saturdays but recommended customers call the store at 541-589-5583 in advance to find out what the weeks special is and its availability. Gibson stated that along with the traditional dinner specials being offered, he is planning on going to the coast once a month in order to bring back fresh seafood, with a new seafood special coming up in the next couple of weeks, mentioning that last months seafood special included shrimp, fresh oysters and scallops. Gibson said that the Crane Store and Cafe is also selling fresh baked sourdough bread, cupcakes, cookies, muffins and more. There is also a bar inside the Crane Store and Cafe that is currently offering happy hour every day from 6 p.m. – 8 pm. Gibson stated that he is planning to provide live music a couple of times a month and is also planning to expand the store by adding showers and a laundromat.
