Spence retires after 32 years of service Community News January 17, 2024January 18, 20240 City of Hines Fire Chief, Bob Spence shakes hands with Hines’ City Administrator, Kirby Letham, as he officially retired on Dec. 31, 2023. Bob Spence spent 32 year in fire service, 28 of those as Fire Chief. In his tenure, Spence was able build a new firehouse/station, update the fire equipment, grants for a new firetruck, and implemented an excellent fire prevention program. His biggest accomplishment after 28 years as the Fire Chief is that no significant injuries came to any of his firefighters during his years as chief.
