It is with great sadness, the family of James A. Bishop announce his passing. 

James, a long time Harney County resident, passed away at St. Alphonsus in Nampa, after a brief but serious illness.

Born Jan. 28, 1950, James was the youngest son of Leo and Alice Bishop, of Bend, attending all his primary school years in Bend. He then attended and graduated from Stanford University. 

He met Ramona and they were married on the shores of Todd Lake in the Oregon Cascades. They eventually moved to Burns where he managed Frenchglen Millwork, did international Management Consulting, taught Economics at OIT in Klamath Falls and was CFO, then CEO at Harney District Hospital.

He is survived by Ramona; his brother, Don; his daughters, Cheryl and Tracee; grandchildren, Darnel, Tyrone and Logan; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

A Memorial will be held Sept 23, 2023, noon, at Cultus Lake outside of Bend.
