Terry Norman Doherty passed away peacefully at home, with his wife, his sister, Judy and daughter, Kim by his side, on May 4, 2023, at the age of 87.

Terry was born and raised in Burns, where he graduated from Burns Union High School. He lettered in baseball and track and field. He was a utility baseball player, but enjoyed pitching the most. He could throw a baseball from one end of the football field through the goal post at the other end. In track and field he was the all-time leader in the javelin throw. 

He had a baseball scholarship for college but chose to join the Air Force. He then spent three years in England working with the first computers. He honorably discharged as an E-3. He then settled back in the Burns area and spent the rest of his life in the Treasure Valley.

Terry enjoyed many things in life including baseball, he was a life-long Dodgers fan, golf, bowling and fishing.

We will all miss his quick Irish wit and gentle spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Doherty; his sister, Judy Dwyer; his daughters, Kim Weston and Barbara Frasier; stepson, Keith Flynn; his grandchildren, Corey Doser, Megan Doser, Kaitlan Livitza, Hannah Weems; great-grandchildren, Xander Doser, Noelle Weems and Royce Rocha; nieces and nephews, Mike (Tawna) Dwyer, David Dwyer, Gil Dwyer, Michelle Dwyer, Lisa Corbett, Tim Vinson, Kevin Vinson and many great-nieces and nephews.

Grave side service will be held at Burns cemetery on Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m.
