Charles Dean Platt II (Chuck), age 33, of Quartzsite, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 8, 2023.

Chuck was born on Dec. 19, 1989, in Ontario, Oregon to Charles Dean Platt and Elizabeth Ann Platt. He was a longtime resident of Burns, moving to the area when he was 2 years old. Chuck loved fishing, camping, woodworking, and hunting for snakes. He loved off-roading and target shooting as well. He was an active kid, participating in wrestling and karate.

After high school, he was a very hard worker and showcased multiple talents, mainly focusing on construction and carpentry. His work ethic took him to places like Alaska, which was his favorite place.

Chuck adored kids and animals. He had a fascination with snakes and loved his dog, Thor. He grew very close to family as an adult.

Chuck was preceded in death by his grandmother and step-grandfather, Carolyn and Leroy Carpenter of Ontario; and grandfather and grandmother, Theodore (Teddy) Miller and Evelyn Riggs of Winnemucca, Nev.

Chuck is survived by his parents, Charles (Chuck) and Elizabeth (Liz) Platt of Burns; grandfather, Dale Dean Platt of Quartzsite, Ariz.; son, Matthew Dean Platt of Texas; sisters, Evelyn, Kateena, and Rebecca; brothers, Jim, Tom, and Nicholas; nieces, Kaedyn, Makayla, Marissa, Lezleigh, Haileigh, and Zaria; nephews, Elijah, Matthew, and Zander; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
