(Photo by DARBIE KEMPER) The Hilander wrestling team placed third, and the Crane Mustangs finished in 13th place at the 17-team 2022 Adrian Irwin Memorial Tournament held Friday-Saturday, Dec. 2-3, at Caldera High School. The Hilanders had nine wrestlers place in the top six of their weight classes, including one champion, Easton Kemper, in the 182-pound weight class. Crane sent one wrestler to the podium. Burns finished with 249.5 points to finish in third place. Mountain View took home the trophy with 333 points, and La Pine came in second with 254 points. Crane finished with 50 points. Along with Kemper’s title, the Hilanders’ Ryan Glascock (113), Kale Cornell (126), and freshman Joe Weil (195) placed second. Kempton Richardson (106), Thomas Winn (120), Canon Winn (126), Carter Lardy (145), and Hunter Kemper (160) placed third. The Mustangs’ Jake Doman placed second in the 182-pound weight class. The Mustangs will head to Alturas, Calif. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 9-10 to take part in the Northeast Classic. The Hilanders will head to La Grande for the Muilenburg Tournament, which will be held Friday-Saturday, Dec. 9-10.
