Janice Lynne Stowell 1941-2022 Obituary November 2, 2022November 2, 20220 Janice Lynne Stowell, 81, was taken home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 16, 2022. She was born on Aug. 17, 1941 in Spokane, Wash. She lived in Spokane as a small child before moving with her parents, Lavern and Audrey Williams to Burns. Janice was the oldest of six children and along with her siblings, grew up in Burns and graduated from Burns High School in 1959. Janice married the love of her life, Norman Stowell on Aug. 13, 1965 in Weiser, Idaho. They lived, worked and raised two daughters, Lisa and Lori in Burns. After both girls were raised and on their own, they moved to Ontario. Janice worked at the hospital in Ontario until she retired. Janice and Norm then moved to Bend, where they have lived for the last 20 years. Jannie, as she was known to her family and friends, loved to travel, going on many family vacations to the Oregon Coast, camping, casinos, and visiting family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, spending as much time with them as possible. She recently welcomed her first great-grandchild into the family. Janice loved hosting for family, get togethers, and was always cooking the most wonderful holiday meals for her family and friends. She always loved having her family around her. She was the most generous, thoughtful person when it came to giving gifts, always knowing just the perfect gift to give to someone. She was such a wonderful wife, mom and grandma to her family, we will miss her tremendously. As Janice’s health began to slowly decline, Norman, her devoted husband of 57 years, became her caregiver. He took such good care of her, always loving being with his sweet Jan, holding hands, and just spending time together. Recently they made a trip to the Oregon Coast, a favorite destination, with their daughter, Lori and her husband, Chris, a memory they will always treasure. Janice is survived by her husband, Norman; daughters, Lisa (Andy) Rader, Lori (Chris) Schmoyer; her grandchildren, Chris, Breanna (Tyler) and Hanna; and her great-granddaughter, Madison Jane; brother, Larry (Cindy) Williams; sister, Debbie Hughet; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Lavern Williams and Audrey Hughet; sister, Dianne Manning; brothers, Kerry Hughet, Duane Hughet; and nephew, Heath Williams. At Janice’s request, there will be no services. Contributions in Janice Stowell’s memory can be made to the Hospice House, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct., Bend, OR., 97701.
