Liam Norris and Marianne Andrews performed two cello duets, Ups and Downs by Th. Henning and Hunter’s Chorus by Carl Maria Webster. In February 2022, Norris participated in the Chamber Music Society Scholarship Auditions and won a scholarship to further his musical training. Auditions will be held again in February 2023 for students in middle school and high school.

Lars Hagbom brought down the house with his rendition of Gardenia Waltz and Orange Blossom Special with backup from his parents, Barry and Kari Hagbom. Lars recently won first place at the National Old Time Fiddlers Contest in Weiser, Idaho in the twin fiddling division, along with Kaitlyn Nejely.

Held July 10 at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, the Chamber Music Society of Harney County’s Center Stage Concert provided a most enjoyable afternoon of music.

The concert featured 17 musicians who performed selections including classical, bluegrass, and extra-terrestrial.

Marianne Andrews received a beautiful bouquet of flowers in recognition of her efforts in organizing the concert.

In September, the Chamber Music Society will begin rehearsals for the Christmas Concert, which is scheduled for Dec. 3 at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene in Hines.
