Winona Marie Snider 1930 – 2022 Obituary July 13, 2022July 13, 20220 Winona Marie Snider of Hines passed away on July 4, 2022. Born Winona Marie Lovejoy on Sept. 26, 1930 in Denver, Colo., “Noni” lived most of her life in her birth state of Colorado. In 1948, Winona graduated from Westminster High School in the Denver area, and in August of 1949, married Robert Briels. They had four children together, Chris, Cheryl, Karen, and Kevin; and Noni also loved her two step-children, Frank and Julie Geanine, who visited frequently. Eventually, Robert and Winona divorced and she went on to marry and divorce again. Noni was a honest, hard-working woman who loved her children and worked a wide variety of jobs in her lifetime to keep her family fed. Among her many jobs, she had been a bookkeeper, receptionist, housekeeper, CNA, cook, and did residential care. At one point, she worked at Coors Porcelain Plant and subsequently Coors Brewery in Golden, Colo. At the brewery, she was the first woman ever to work in the fermenting department, where she was a tank cleaner. Her artistic and creative abilities led her to many interests. Noni acted in local theaters, sang in a Sweet Adelines chorus, made stained glass creations, did Brazillian embroidery, crocheted countless afghans and centerpieces, danced, gardened, hunted pretty rocks, and continued taking classes to learn new things. Winona was preceded in death by her parents, Ilma Vernon and husband, “Red,” and Bradbury Lovejoy and wife, Lillian. She is survived by her stepson, Frank Briels and wife, Zita; stepdaughter, Julie Geanine McLean and husband, Roger; son, Chris Briels; daughter, Cheryl Johnson; daughter, Karen Fleharty and husband. Rick; and son, Kevin Briels. She’s also survived by 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
