Janet Stearns Mosley passed away peacefully Saturday Dec. 25, 2021 at the age of 93. She had been in an assisted living home in Eagle, Idaho for the past five years.  

She was born in Meadows, Idaho on June 20, 1928 to Winfield Stearns and Frances Abshire Stearns. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Elizebeth; her husband, Cal Mosley; and brother, John Stearrns (Jack ).

Janet earned her nursing degree and was a surgery nurse for Drs. White and Campbell.  She completed her nursing career as the Harney County Health Nurse.  Along with her husband of 60 years, they owned and ran the Mosley’s Family Shoe Store for about 30 years. They were very active in the community being members of the Elks, Lions, Harney County Chamber of Commerce and St Andrew’s Episcopal Church.  

She is survived by her only child, Carolyn Mosley Frechette, Carolyn’s husband, Ray, her daughter, Nicole Hodgson and sons, Jack and Rowe, her daughter, Lisa Blair, husband, Ben and sons, Kaleb and Judah. She is also survived by her brothers, Bob Stearns and wife Jennie, and Ken Stearns and wife, Debbie, and her sister, Karen Hughes and husband, Don. 

Memorial gifts can be made to St Andrews’ Episcopal Church in Burns. A celebration of life will be held in Burns in July.
