Rickey Nelson Morley 1956 – 2021 Obituary November 17, 2021November 17, 20210 Ricky Nelson Morley passed away on Oct. 11, 2021, at his home in Burns at the age of 65. He had family with him when the Lord called him home. Rick was born on April, 29 1956 in Heppner, the fifth child of N.T. and Iris Morley. He attended grade school in Kinzua, Ore., then in Fossil, Ore., when the schools combined and graduated from Wheeler High School in Fossil. After graduation, Rick worked at the Kinzua Mercantile and the Kinzua golf course. He went to work logging with his brother, Lynn for several years before moving to Burns. In Burns, he worked at Snow Mountain Pine until it closed, then at Tecton for awhile then eventually working at Harney County Coach until it closed. He spent the rest of his time as a handyman doing yardwork and maintenance, but his greatest joy was helping take care of his great-niece, Iris. He loved helping her with her homework and teaching her about flowers and other plants. He was extremely protective of her. Rick is survived by his brother, Lynn Morley (Sharleen) of Fossil; sisters, Nancy Messenger (Dave) of Moro, Ore., Christine Springer (Don) of Hood River, Debbie Morley and sister-in-law, Jean Morley of Burns. Also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was proceded in death by his father, mother, and oldest brother, Larry. His burial was Oct. 14, 2021 at the Fossil Cemetery in Fossil with Sweeney Mortuary providing arrangements. Rick will be greatly missed but we know he is in a better place with out dad, mom, and brother.
