Betty J. Jenkins (Ashcraft) 82, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 18, 2021, in the comfort of her loving daughter Charlotte.  

Betty was born in Arkansas, graduated from high school in Burns and finally settled in Redding in the late 1960’s.  

Betty was many things; she was a sister, a wife, a mother to three wonderful children (Gerry, Charlotte, and Mona), an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a flawless seamstress, incredible cook and fierce friend.  

She touched the lives of so many in her community whether it was with a warm smile, a soothing hug or tray of her famous brownies.  

She enjoyed many adventures throughout her life with friends and family, her late husband of 25 years, Kent and most recently with the cherished members of the Atwell family.  

Betty was smart, spunky, poised, and always the most fun girl at the party. She was a very special lady who will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.  

Betty is survived by her sisters, Patty and Sis (Ella Mae); brother, Smokey; daughter, Charlotte; friend, Butch; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
