The game was moved to Madras when the Burns air quality was reading well over the allowable OSAA limit to play. With the previous week’s game at Sisters being canceled due to air quality restrictions, the Klamath game would be the program’s first varsity contest since the 2019 state semi-final game. The 2020 “COVID-19” season was limited to only two JV games. Burns senior quarterback Dalhton Proffitt led the way against the Pelicans, as he ran for 214 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing for 185 yards and two touchdowns on 12 of 16 passes. Junior running back Hunter Kemper complemented the offense with 55 yards rushing on 11 carries and a touchdown while also catching five passes for 113 yards and another TD. Senior wide receiver Ethan Peasley-Richardson caught the other Proffitt touchdown pass from 13 yards out. Senior Adam White was 5 for 5 on extra point kicks on the night. Overall, the Hilanders amassed 20 first downs with 484 yards of total offense. The defense was led by inside linebacker Hunter Kemper who recorded a team high 13 total tackles, three for losses, and two QB sacks. Senior linebacker Kevin Peasley finished with seven total tackles, and freshman defensive lineman Easton Kemper had four tackles for losses on the night. Defensively, Burns limited the Klamath offense to 222 yards total offense with only 21 yards given up on the ground. The Hilanders are scheduled to play at home Friday against the Mac-Hi Pioneers. The game time is set for 7 p.m.
