Kathleen Izola Lane passed away in her home on May 28, 2021. 

The youngest of three children, Kathleen was born Nov. 14, 1932 in Burns. She was raised on a ranch in the Steen’s Mountains with her father (Daddy) Ben O’Keeffe, her mother Izola O’Keefe (Ausmus) along with her brother John and sister Eileen.

After attending school in Burns, Kathleen moved to the Portland area where she continued her studies in cosmetology. During this time Kathleen met her husband of 61 years, Ed Lane, who passed away Dec. 22, 2020.

The daughter of an Irish immigrant, Kathleen was very loving and passionate about her family roots. She traveled to Ireland several times during her life to visit family. Later in life she opened and operated a successful business in Oregon City naming it the “Emerald Isle Beauty Salon.”

Kathleen is survived by her sister Eileen McVicker; her two daughters, Sharleen Grand and Eileen Hess; son-in-law, Dave Hess; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held for Kathleen and her husband, Ed, a Korean War veteran, at the Willamette National Cemetery at 1:00 pm August 5th.  Afterwards, a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm at the Monarch Hotel, 12566 SE 93rd Ave. in Clackamas Oregon. Friends and family are welcome to attend both events.
