David Carl Warstler 1944 – 2021 Obituary January 20, 2021January 20, 20210 David Carl Warstler passed away peacefully at hom on Jan. 7, surrounded by family. He was born in Parsons, Kan. Oct. 23, 1944. He began learning about upholstery while still in high school. He apprenticed for five years and then became a journeyman and took night classes to learn specialized skills such as diamond tufting. In 1975 he opened his business “Dave’s Custom Upholstery” soon after moving to Burns.. He took pride in his skills and could repair or re-cover almost anything. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, baking, and gardening. He took every opportunity to be welcoming to newcomers and was always willing to share his vast experience with others. He also liked exploring the local area in his spare time. Many of his favorite trips were to the Snake River with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; sister, Elizabeth and brother, Melvin. He was survived by his wife, Donna; his mother, Lila; sister, Carolyn; brothers, Jack and Joe; his children, Melinda, Rhonda, Aaron and Laurna; grandchildren, Eric, Stephanie, Jacob, Dan, Makayla, Sabrina, Tyler, and Alexander; Great-grandchildren, Alik and Blakely. As a Jehovah’s Witness he had a strong faith in Jehovah , and the hope of a resurrection to life , in God’s Kingdom, here on earth. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
