For many years, Burns Elks Lodge No. 1680 has provided Christmas baskets for families and individuals in the community. Due to COVID-19, providing baskets for Christmas 2020 was a bit more challenging. Undeterred, Anna Cronin rose to the challenge by organizing the 2020 Christmas basket project. With the help of numerous Elks members and their spouses, she was able to get the baskets assembled and delivered. The project was funded through a grant from the Elks National Foundation as well as donations from the local Elks lodge, various businesses, and community members. As a result, 396 local households, some of which may not have otherwise had a Christmas, were able to receive Christmas baskets.
