Police seeking information about poaching incident News May 6, 2020May 7, 20200 Photo courtesy of OREGON STATE POLICE The Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public’s assistance to identify the person(s) responsible for the unlawful taking and wasting of two mature mule deer bucks in Harney County. On May 2, the OSP Fish and Wildlife Division was notified of two deceased mule deer bucks off of Lawen Road between Highway 205 and Highway 78 (in the Steens Unit). The deceased bucks were discovered by a local resident/rancher who noticed them lying in a field. OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers responded to the scene and discovered the bucks had been shot sometime the night before (May 1) or in the early morning of May 2.
