For fans of the show Cold Justice, a missing person’s cold case tying Harney and Linn counties together was featured on the show that aired Saturday, April 11, at 6 p.m. on Oxygen. This case is a prime example of how agencies and individuals from multiple jurisdictions can come together for a common goal.

The team from Cold Justice traveled to Harney County in 2019 to assist with a cold case, bringing in additional resources to help with the investigation that we would not have otherwise had access to. This included a K9 unit who specializes in finding missing or deceased individuals.

Some of the highlights included observing the K9 at work and learning about how the K9 is trained and what they can find. The Harney County Sheriff’s Office also learned a lot from the archaeologist regarding what changes in soil to look for. During some of the downtime, they also got to talk with the film crew about their work.

The sheriff’s office stated it was a privilege to be able to work with this team and learn invaluable tools to be used in future investigations.
