Mary Louise McCanna 1947-2019 Obituary October 2, 2019October 4, 20190 Mary Louise McCanna, 71, passed away Aug. 8 due to complications from ALS. She passed away peacefully at her home in Tillamook, surrounded by her family. Mary was born Oct. 31, 1947, in Lakeview to Dan and Arlie Meador. She got married to the love of her life, David Allen McCanna Sr., Oct. 31, 1964. They were married 54 years and had three children. Mary and David made their home in Burns, raised their family, and after retirement, they relocated to Tillamook. Mary’s family came first and foremost in her life. She treasured her husband and children, and embraced every moment she spent with them. She loved the outdoors, working in her flower gardens, camping, boating, and water skiing. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family during the holidays. She also enjoyed embroidery. For many years, Mary worked in lumber mills. It was hard work, but she still managed to keep an immaculate home and have a full-course meal on the table for her family every night, never complaining. She was an amazing woman with a heart full of love and kindness. She was loved immensely and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Mary is survived by her husband, David McCanna Sr.; children, David McCanna Jr. (Kim), Dan McCanna (Dawn), and Pam McCanna-Stanfield (Bill); 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; two sisters; and a great-grandchild. Contributions in Mary’s name may be made to the ALS Foundation of Oregon.
