Harney County School District (HCSD) No. 3 announced the schedule for registration and beginning school dates for the coming school year.

Online registration, a new option for K-12, started Monday, Aug. 5. See website for details: https://www.burnsschools.k12.or.us/

Slater registration will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, from noon to 3 p.m.

Hines Middle School registration (Scottie Day) will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hilander Day at Burns High School will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Seniors register at 10 a.m.;
• juniors at 11 a.m.;
• sophomores at 1 p.m.; and
• freshmen at 2 p.m.

School begins, Monday, Aug. 26. School start and end times are as follows:

Slater Elementary School – 7:55 a.m. start time; 3:10 p.m. end time.
Kindergarten Gentle Start – 7:55 a.m. start time; 11:45 a.m. end time (first week only).

Hines Middle School – 7:30 a.m. doors open for breakfast; 7:48 a.m. first period begins; 3:20 p.m. end time.

Burns High School – 7:40 a.m. first bell; 7:45 a.m. first period begins; 3:30 p.m. end time.
NEW: First day of school (Monday, Aug. 26) — Freshmen start at 7:45 a.m. There will be a two-hour delay for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They will start at 9:45 a.m.
