Lorili Lee Mack 1971-2019

Lorili Lee Mack, known as Lori to most, passed away March 23 at her daughter’s home in La Grande after a long battle with colon cancer.

She was born in Burns Nov. 10, 1971, to Lonie Anderson and Jackie Collinsworth. Lori was the oldest of four children, including her two sisters, Cyna Anderson and Nomi Wetter, and brother, Matthew Boren.

Lori was very involved in her children’s lives. She always made decisions to show them that life really is what you make it, and you have the power to change anything you’re not happy with or unsatisfied with. You just have to put in the work and have the right attitude. Lori was an incredibly kind, driven, and passionate woman in whatever she did. She always did things with a full heart and the best intentions. She did everything with a smile and could make anyone laugh. She had many amazing abilities, one of which is the way that she could out-fart any man! (Sorry, Mom! We spilled the beans!) She never did anything halfway; she never did anything halfhearted; and, most importantly, she never did anything that she didn’t want to do.

She set a great example, not only for her daughters, but for everyone. She went back to college to get her bachelor’s degree, and nothing could’ve stopped her from walking across that stage with her best friend, Amber. They made a plan, and she stuck with it even though chemotherapy and radiation treatments were hard. She met her goal, and she got that degree. She was so inspirational, and everyone she ever met will carry pieces of her around with them forever because that’s just who she was. She touched the lives of every person she spoke to, even if it was only for five minutes.

Lori found pleasure in many things, especially spending time with her grandbabies and fur babies. She took her Great Danes everywhere. They were her pride and joy. She loved hiking and camping, making memories outside whenever possible. She loved the ocean and walking through fields of sunflowers, teaching the kids the best spot to hunt for mushrooms, and horseback riding on the trails. Lori loved spending time with people and, most importantly, spending personal time with God.

She is survived by three daughters and several grandchildren, some of whom she gained through adoption. Her youngest daughter placed her son up for adoption with a family when she got pregnant at a young age. Lori’s oldest daughter and her husband have three children. Her middle and youngest daughters each have two children, and she gained three other grandchildren from the adoption process for a total of 10 grandchildren. Lori also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Lori was predeceased by her mother and father; her brother; and grandparents, Dewey and Hattie Anderson.

A service was held March 30 at the Mormon church on Gekeler. Lori was a great friend, great mother, and great mentor.

  1. Right now, when your loss is so fresh, it may be difficult for you to imagine that this pain will ever go away. But in time the blessing of God’s unfailing love will soften the hurt you’re feeling and bring your heart the peace, comfort and hope that it needs to heal. How? Revelation 21:4 tells us that soon everything that causes us pain, including death, will be gone forever. We also have the hope of our loved ones being resurrected here on earth, as Acts 24:15 tells us. I do hope you find comfort in this.
Though I did not know your loved one, she sound like a beautiful person. I am touched by your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. JW.org.

  2. I took me a while to say something Lori. You are missed every day and I am so proud of you and the way you lived your life. Your kids are so proud of you and they will carry your torch throughout life. Smile down on us.
