Lorraine ‘Kay’ Kribs Boswell 1942-2018 Obituary October 31, 2018November 2, 20180 Kay Boswell passed away Sept. 10 at her home in Beaverton from complications of multiple myeloma. She was 75. Kay was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Ontario to James and Wilma Kribs. She was raised in Burns where she graduated high school in the class of 1960. Kay attended Northwest Christian College and graduated from St. Alphonsus School of Nursing in 1965. She accepted a commission in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and served six years in Korea and Germany. It was during her service in Korea where she was indirectly exposed to “agent orange.” This exposure is considered the cause of her multiple myeloma diagnosis in 2015. After her honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Kay continued to practice nursing for 51 years. She excelled as a nursing administrator, particularly focusing in the areas of geriatrics and developmentally delayed adults. She retired in 2015. In her younger years, Kay married and divorced William Beeler and Thomas J. Wilkinson. She married the love of her life, William R.‘Bob’ Boswell Jr., in 1998. Survivors include her husband, William R. Boswell Jr; mother, Wilma Kribs; daughter, Alicia Anne (Wilkinson) Brown; stepsons, Robert and Jeffrey Boswell; sister, Rebecca Swick; twin brother, Leonard Kribs; brother, Gordon Kribs; and seven adoring grandchildren. A memorial service was held Oct. 27 at Murray Hills Christian Church in Beaverton. Contributions may be made to the Boswell Memorial Fund in care of the church. Private interment service at Mountainside Cemetery in Scholls.
