Alton Parker passed away Oct. 7 at home, surrounded by family. He fought a long 10-and-a-half-year battle with prostate cancer.

Alton was born July 15, 1950, in Baker City. He attended grade school in Burns, then his family moved to Edmonds, Wash., where he graduated. He later joined the Navy and was in Vietnam. After his tour, he operated cranes for major construction companies, however, the majority of his work life was managing hotels in the Oregon and Washington area.

He loved sports and being outdoors, wrestling in school, playing softball, hunting, fishing… but really loved playing golf, the game he learned from his father.

Alton had a deep love of his family and friends.

Alton is survived by his wife, Marion; son, Blake; brother, Chris; and mother, Dorothy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene.
