Joseph Raimond Oltman 1941-2018 Obituary August 22, 2018August 23, 20180 Joseph Raimond Oltman, 76, of Burns, passed away Aug. 4 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. Joe was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Burns to Johnnie Frances and Alfred ‘Buck’ Oltman. He was a little mischievous, quick-witted, worked hard, and considered a cornerstone of Harney County. Joseph was drafted in the Army in 1966, serving in Vietnam in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. He saved many a man, not only physically, but mentally. He was very active in veterans groups and advocated for them in all things. He married Bobbie Cote in December 1972, living on his family’s ranch at “old Princeton” when they decided to buy the Antlers around 1974, owning that until it burned down January 1987. Joe and Bobbie also owned The Stag and The Pine Room. Joseph enjoyed woodworking, old cars, 50s rock & roll, and anything military. Joe is survived by his wife, Bobbie Oltman; daughters, Cindy Seebart and husband, Charlie, and Samantha Landon and husband, Kelly; son, Mark Oltman and wife, Anna; grandchildren, Anthony Seebart, Nicole and Joseph Oltman, and Parker Landon; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Hunter, and Madeline; brother, John Oltman; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Contributions may be made to the local American Legion Post No. 63 in Burns.
