Get into the spirit by marking your calenders for the following festivities: Thursday, Nov. 30 • Holiday concert by the Burns High School (BHS)band at 7 p.m. in the BHS cafeteria. Friday, Dec. 1 • Home Spun Craft Bazaar at Slater School from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The bazaar will feature local and regional craft items including pottery, quilts, candles, soaps, lotions, jewelry, and more. Proceeds from the event will go toward the Slater fifth-graders’ field trip to the Diamond Craters and The High Desert Museum in Bend. Saturday, Dec. 2 • Catholic Church Christmas Bazaar at Holy Family Catholic Church, 685 N. Fairview in Burns. • Home Spun Craft Bazaar at Slater School from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bazaar will feature local and regional craft items including pottery, quilts, candles, soaps, lotions, jewelry, and more. Egan in Burns, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Rustic the Snowman Workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harney County Arts and Crafts Association (HCACA) table at Slater School’s Homespun Bazaar. Fee is $5 for general admission or free for HCACA members. Umpqua Bank is sponsoring a Finders Keepers event. A $20 gift certificate will be hidden at each participating location to be used at that store. Maps of participating merchants can be picked up at the Harney County Chamber of Commerce. Sunday, Dec. 3 • The Chamber Music Society of Harney County Christmas Concert at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave. in Hines. The concert will feature local musicians performing in a bell choir, chorus, and orchestra. Admission is free; donations will be accepted. A reception will follow the concert. Thursday, Dec. 7 Holiday Concert by the BHS choir at 7 p.m. in the BHS cafeteria. Saturday, Dec. 9 Annual Downtown Christmas Jamboree and Parade. Events include Breakfast with Santa at Burns Elks Lodge; holiday display; caroling; a gingerbread house contest; games; crafts and craft fair; face painting; wagon rides; ugly sweater contest; a free holiday movie (with canned food donation); light parade; and bonfire. • Get your picture taken with Santa. Ruthie’s In His Image Photography is offering free individual and family photos from 12-2 p.m. at 30585 Hwy. 20 (across from Burns RV). • The Foursquare Church is serving free hot dogs and hot cocoa from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. after the parade by the bonfire across from Safeway. Sunday, Dec. 10 • Round Barn Visitor Center Open House from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Free drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Saturday, Dec. 16 Last Chance Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hines City Hall.
